Why Am I Going On A Diet?

Many people feel the need to diet because of peer pressure, or general feelings of low self esteem. The truth is dieting is a way to get healthy and improve your life.

If you are considering a diet like the Every Other Day diet you should make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. Don't jump onto a diet because you are being pressured, or made to feel less than, because of your weight.

Quick Weight Loss Could Be A Bad Thing

Sometimes losing weight fast can be detrmental to your weight loss goals. That's right I said it! Diets are only effective if you can stay on them long enough to learn to make them a lifestyle. A quick 10 lb drop has taught you nothing if you can't sustain it.

My success with the Every Other Day Diet is due to my ability to live forever on the plan and keep the weight off. I was one of those people who lost a lot of weight on Adkins, only to gain it back at record speed.  It was terribly demoralizing.

Truthfully I lost weight on the EODD Diet very quickly, but the diet became easier with each passing week. I was able to sustain weight loss like on no other diet I have ever tried. This is the quintisential nutshell tha makes this diet plan so great.

Think about all of the diets you have tried and try to pinpoint bthe reasons they failed. I could almost always point to the eating plan being too restricive to live with for the long term. This realization led me to look for diet programs that would allow me to eat properly, on a regular basis.

Should You Colon Cleanse Before Starting A Diet?

When I started the EODD Diet I decided to kick start my diet with a colon cleansing regimen. A friend of mine told me that by doing a cleansing I would lose weight initially, and also kick start my metabolism. As I had already read the Every Other Diet Book and learned how the diet kept your metabolism burning with calorie shifting, I decided colon cleansing was worth a shot.
